Minor bugs I've found

I apologize if these are posted elsewhere and that the info isn't real clear or even if this is in the wrong section of the boards.

Have only recently purchased the game, about 3-4 days now, and have only played single player to better familiarize myself with the game. There's a couple things that have been bugging me.

I have no idea how to reproduce this one but my capital ship will colonize a planet and then it'll instantly go back to being an unclaimed planet. This happens at random and there's clearly no enemy units around when I colonize so I'm stumped as to why it happens.

If I siege and capture a planet while the enemy still has a frigate factory my units will no longer automatically attack the frigate factory.

Another one I have no idea how to reproduce. I attack the pirate base and clear out all the enemies and then my ships will just sit around and take the shots from their defenses and not fight back or even try to siege the planet. This doesn't happen every time, I'd estimate about 50% of the time.

I've wiped out the pirates and colonized their planet(s) a number of times now and it hasn't updated the achievements part for colonizing a pirate planet.

That's all I can think of at the current moment though I swear I remember seeing some others. If there's any other info that would help feel free to ask.

Thanks for the report Jacarr. The best thing to do is send us a save game of the particular problem occuring and a description of where to look. The save game should zip up very small if you think they are too big. The email address is [email protected] :)

Ok, got one of the bugs saved to a recorded game along with a few more I found in it. What folder an I looking for to attach the recorded game?

My brother and I can also verify all these reported problems, other than the one about a Pirate Base achievement not counting, it did for me my first time and I never looked into it again. My ships routinely ignore enemy frigate factories.

A "feature" thats particularly annoying me at the moment is when I try to retreat a fleet. If any of my ships get disabled, the rest of the fleet continue jump and then turn around and jump back in again to join the disabled ships. It doesnt seem to matter what settings I have in grouping or engagement, they always seem to have suicidal tendancies.

I've definitely had the problem where I wipe out all the pirates' ships, and then my ships refuse to auto-attack the defenses. I did this after I had already won the game (chose the option to continue playing).

I do remember reading that if you colonize the pirate planet after the game has already been won, it will not update the achievement (which is probably by design).

That might explain it then, I did continue playing a majority of my games until recently. Last few games I just quit when I win. Took a look at achievements since I've quit continuing after winning and I do have that one unlocked now.

Figure I'll tack on the two new bugs I don't have listed up there.

Correction to the frigate factory one, they just seem to outright ignore it regardless of who has control. I assumed it had to do with capturing the planet because the colonizing capital ships like to colonize before clearing everything out but have since then seen units just ignore it regardless of what's left in the planet and who controls it.

Progenitor Mothership's ability Resurrection, when place on autocast, will keep recycling as long as there's 100 antimatter to spend, regardless of capital ship status.

The research ability, Mass Transcendence, doesn't give the experience trickle to capital ships as it states at either rank.

That's incorrect, the ability works as it should. It's an alternative method of training ships to a max level 4 without spending credits. It doesn't trickle in past level 4, and that's listed in the infocard ;)

Yeah, there's a known issue in 1.03 with auto-attack on neutral defenses not working properly :P

Mass Transcendence says for me, "By harnessing the Unity's collective mind, all capital ships continuously gain experience until the level cap. In addition they receive bonus experience in combat"

Last time I checked the level cap was 10. If they are in fact referring to the max trainable level it should probably state that a little more clearly. =/

How much more clear could you be? It's on the ability and the research infocard.

I agree with jacarr - "level cap" is not a clear definition of "max trainable level".

I also thought this ability was broken, but when I researched it most games I played were nearly over so I didn't care much.

No, it actually has in the stats (not the description) that it's level 2 for rank 1, and level 4 for rank 2.

Has anyone else been having a problem with their game settings and acheivements not being saved?
