[MOD] 7 DEADLY SINS : by DANMAN GAMES (DANMAN3712) ver 2.5 FINAL AVAILABLE to the PUBLIC!

The Ultimate Combo mod - featured in PC GAMER

http://www.danmangames.com

Welcome to the 7 DEADLY SINS mod, as featured in PC GAMER by DANMAN .

Welcome to 7 Deadly Sins 2.5 FINAL for the latest version of Sins Entrenchment 1.053.
7DS can only be played at HIGH maximum settings. DO NOT USE VERY HIGH settings. This will cause a minidump. Also, there is an issue with Win7 64 bit. You will get crashes, load errors, or the game will not even play, with or without warning. Just keep reloading the game and trying until you actually get into the game and play. This is a Windows problem, not a problem with Sins or 7DS.

7 Deadly Sins is:

The ultimate combo mod, the "unoffical" expansion of Sins of a Solar Empire, or so it has been dubbed by the mod community.
The work of many individual modders working together under my leadership (DANMAN3712).
Nearly 4 years old and downloaded in various forms over 100k times worldwide and in 5 languages.

Together, we form the 7DS Mod Team and the backbone of DANMAN GAMES www.danmangames.com

7 Deadly Sins is the combination of original 7DS Team content and other mods including:

Battlecruisers -very heavy armor, 2 to 3 weapon banks for anti-cruiser, destroyer and frigate duty
Capitalships -capital armor
Dreadnought -capital armor, incredible firepower and durability
Titan -capital armor like Dreadnoughts, possess doomsday weapons

New Area Affect Doomsday Weapons
TCA Beta Kol Graviton Doomsday
Imperial Executor SSD Shield Overload
Atlantian Avatar Stellar Converter (beam with damage to all in path)
Triad of Creation -Lapis Blackhole Generator and Spatial Compressor Wormhole Weapon

New Special Abilities
Rogue "Assault Pods", The Machine "Assimilation" for capturing capitalships, TCA armor plating unlocked by research for greater tanking, TOU "Oppression Aura" that reduces enemy firepower, Arilou Obliterator "Ion Cannon" disabling Starbases, Arilou "Mxyzptlk Array" with time disrupting "Quasi-Bomb", Triad of Creation "Nosferatu" and "Ghoul" energy siphons that do damage, and More!

New classes of strikecraft squadrons and Capitalships/Dreadnoughts/Titans with fixed number of Squadrons
Cruiser Squads of 3 strikecraft
Capital Squadrons of 6 strikecraft; largely used by Hangars
Titan Wings of 9 strikecraft; also used by Starbases

Mobile Starbases -all races possess starbases that can move about the gravity well to interdict enemy forces -assault carefully.

12 Playable Races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has its own unique tactics of gameplay.

Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might
Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection.
TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.
Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order
Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.

TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan.
The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine
Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan.
Ship research boosts weapon performance.

DARK FLEET- modified Vasari
The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey.
Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.

Imperial Armada- from Star Wars
Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer.
Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.

Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates
Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery.
Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships

Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games
Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.

Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games
Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.

Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games
Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.

Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods)
The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.

Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games
As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.

Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers
The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

Just played what's going into newest beta release on "Twin Advent Empires", but 4 players, 4 teams, unlocked.  Very fun and smooth performance at 1650x1050 full screen with most on High.

If playing outside dev.exe, things run a lot smoother because you aren't generating a massive log file.  You can boost performance a bit by editing the user.setting file in Settings (near where mods are installed) and changing 2 lines to this:

MaxParticleCount 16000
MaxParticleSimulationsCount 6000

It'll change the moment you play in dev.exe

Can you use this mod in diplomacy?

Nope.  Entrenchment only.  imho, I'm glad it doesn't work with Diplomacy; it sucks.

A few little know bugs:

3 KzerZa capitalship meshes with hardpoint orientation issues
A couple of moving starbases that don't have 'gravitywell' for attack range so they sit there when enemy arrives.
Ships using fighter attacks didn't 'handle' well enough so stats changed to make them move better.
Fleet costs on pirate ships altered, which alters the number of ships in pirate raids.
Taxation with increased fleet sizes was, as others mentioned, 'Too Damn High', so now resetting to about 75% on the average giving players more credits/resources throughout the game -especially late game.

All these fixes have been sent to Danman.  Some fixes for "developer only version" for new race sent as well.

I have a strange bug, in main menu only the top 3 buttons are there. Check for updates, play diplomacy, exit game are not. The exit game button is the most annoying since I have to either turn off the mod or use task manager to kill game.

It is not really a bug... your sins version is certainly upgraded to the last recent patch... patch who was released shortly after the last public beta... Samaz have already correct it... adding a "forum" button too...

no, no forum button.  That's just too damn complex for me.

Hello,

I'm trying really hard to play this awesome mod however the minidump is killing me.

My computer is not undersized (4GB, C2D 7200, Rad 4850), it's up to date and well maintained.

I've lowered the settings to the bare minimum, disabled all the graphical effects, played even on the small map size, "simplified" the mod directories, but there is no helping it: within a few minutes after the start, "MINIDUMP!".

This might sound like an offensive question to the creator of the mods, but, anyone manage to play this mod without minidump for extended periods of time? IF so , what settings are you using, do you have any special tricks to make it work?

Thank you.

Some mods have conflicts after the initial activation that cause mini-dumps a few minutes into game start. I'm not sure if that's what is occurring for you, but try the following.

Activate the mod.

Exit the game.

Start Entrenchment (The mod should already be activated at this point).

* I have to perform the above to play SOA2 or it mini-dumps 2-3 minutes after game start.

All setting on very high, everything enable, 10 different races + pirate, ultra huge random map ( 10 star, 320 planet, 20 pirates bases )...

After 5 hours of play, the game use 3.5 gb ram... only trick that i use is that i am using a other OS!!!

On windows OS, game will crash if all setting are on very high, game will crash if it reach 2gb of memory used, etc... Samaz have recently wrote that the actual beta need at least 1.3 gb at the start ( i think )... and that it grow during the play...

You say that you have 4gb ram... but you say nothing about your OS... if you have a 32 bit OS, like xp, from your 4gb, it remain maybe a little more that +-3gb who can be used due to the address range of your various material... from this +-3gb, a chunk is reserved for the OS and the rest for ALL your applications... curious to know how much memory ( real one ) is free on your system before you launch the game...

Thanks this apparently solved the issue i was having, i was able to play  - like other people here - at max setting for a full session without any minidump.

@Thoumsin

I have Vista 64 and my memory usage on windows desktop is 1,26 GB, that is with very few background app and windows service as i disable everything that i don't need.

End of doberman211's quote

Nope... the mod is too much big for several of the usual "free hosting system"...

As for the "pay" thing, it is similar to these so called "free hosting system"... you know, limited size download and limited speed with the "free" thing, any size at high speed with "premium", "gold", "platinium" or any other named membership...

About the forum, it is the working place... Stardock forum are only used for basic presentation of the mod... it is not the right place for a work forum...

If you find not easy to get the mod, maybe the mod AND soase are not for you... remember that these game need at least a few brain cell...

As for the "Screw that shit", how do you know that the mod is "shit" since you was not able to download it !!! Losing a lazzy and vulgar "fan" guy like you is not a problem for the mod... if a few click and a registration ( who is free ) is too much, you don't really deserve our work ( that we make for free )...

If i can't test it and use it easily, then it might as well be shit because i'm not paying for a mod genius xD. Go make your own game if you want. Every other mod in SOASE is easy to download and all are free. I've done some minor modding of my own on this game. It's not like it's Homeworld or Halo or something. It's all text files and mesh files. I've done that stuff. Combining mods is great isnt it? Ive combined Sins Plus and Solar Sins myself just using the texture files.

So...yeah. Sins is for me, this mod definitely isn't. Not coming back here.

That's from the first post and is in big yellow letters with red highlighting.  You don't need a Premium account since there should be a link to the GameFront download in the Free Downloads area.

End of doberman211's quote

Well, o be sure, you are not a genius... i have wrote ( like other have wrote to ) that you can have the mod for free... only difference between the free and pay version is that the free version don't include the video...

Not our choice, it is due to the file limit of free host... as for the "pay" thing, it is related to the host, not the mod itself... megaupload, rapidshare, filefront use all a similar system...

Every other mod in SOASE is easy to download and all are free.
End of quote

Well, for the time being, 7DS is the biggest mod... so, it is not easy to find a reliable host who accept big file... and i repeat, the mod is free...

End of quote

Funny... only a idiot will try to combine "Sins Plus" and "Solar Sins" since "Solar sins" is already "sins plus" + some extra... Know about it since Uzi have give "sins plus" to Dan and the result was "Solar sins"... who itself was used by Dan for basis of 7DS...

As for modding, if it is so simple like you say, why not make your own mod in place of complain of other mod...

Not coming back here.

First good idea
