Going adventuring. Makon has "2.5 Final "G" for Entrenchment" in my dropbox to retrieve before I log off everywhere for good. Release of "G" is up to Dan/Makon. It might get into Rebellion, might not.
TCA for Entrenchment -we went a little crazy on them with hull regen that blew away every race, weapons that couldn't be beat and massive armor levels from research and passive plating... then the Kol Beta flo-metal passive ability that ate points if you screwed up + no clear "Short" and "Long" division among the ships.
Railguns: 15k: research gives 100% bonus to damage and 40% shield ignore
centerline research improves ROF and Range 90%
Gauss Weapons: 5k: research gives 100% bonus to damage and 40% shield ignore
*interesting penalties for some of the ballistic research like a penalty to shield hp and antimatter capacity
Beams: 7500 and high damage or 15k and low damage
Ideal Fast & Short Range: Gauss/HighIntensityBeam: Kol Beta, Eisenhower, Patton, Montgomery, MacArthur
Ideal Slow Snipe Fleet: Railguns/Missiles/LowIntensityBeam: everything else... and majority of logistics.
One thing this does is nerfs TCA down a bit so they don't rip the other races to bits. They are more like the Dark Fleet and TOU than ATL/TOC and Empire. Hope that bit was noticed in player order... ATL/TOC/Empire -good matches. TOU/Dark/TCA -good matches. Arilou/KohrAh/KzerZa -also good. Rogue is hard mode and TEC is insane mode... but 2 L10 Vulcan BattleCarriers can really rip a L10 Kol Beta if you can keep it's DD disables via manifestos.
one thing I thought of and didn't do was double all railgun damage and rof so range fleet can't handle short rangers getting in on them... could've, but didn't.
