Welcome to 7 Deadly Sins 2.5 FINAL for the latest version of Sins Entrenchment 1.053.
7DS can only be played at HIGH maximum settings. DO NOT USE VERY HIGH settings. This will cause a minidump. Also, there is an issue with Win7 64 bit. You will get crashes, load errors, or the game will not even play, with or without warning. Just keep reloading the game and trying until you actually get into the game and play. This is a Windows problem, not a problem with Sins or 7DS.

The ultimate combo mod, the "unoffical" expansion of Sins of a Solar Empire, or so it has been dubbed by the mod community.

Cruiser Squads of 3 strikecraft

Mobile Starbases -all races possess starbases that can move about the gravity well to interdict enemy forces -assault carefully.

 

12 Playable Races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has its own unique tactics of gameplay.

Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might
Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection.
TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.
Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order
Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.

TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan.
The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine
Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan.
Ship research boosts weapon performance.

DARK FLEET- modified Vasari
The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey.
Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.

Imperial Armada- from Star Wars
Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer.
Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.

Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates
Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery.
Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships

Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games
Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.

Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games
Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.

Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games
Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.

Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods)
The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.

Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games
As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.

Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers
The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

UPDATE:

Through all the commotion I have caused, members of my team and I have come up with a temporary solution to the hardcoded string file. We will take it apart! As such, going forward, at least until Ironclad can fix the hardcodes, my team and I will be removing vast amounts of "vanilla" information from the string file, as well as segregating like things into one description. This should buy us about 300 slots or more, which will allo for further expansion of the 7 DEADLY SINS Universe.

This being said, development of 7 DEADLY SINS is now resumed! I will press onward, and all the while hoping the developers will change the hardcodes, as I will no doubt hit them again in the very near future.

I have managed to fix the String file on my own. Took me hours, but it is now up and running. I have 5786 entries, 40 more than when it was dumping!

As such, the 2.0 BETA "C" will now be released as PLANNED!!!!

Thank you to all those who supported me in the other thread. The other hardcodes are still there, so lets hope the developers listen...

Sorry to inject my patheticness, but I have downloaded this mod in addition to 7zip, however when I attempt to extrat the compressed file it states that it cannot open file.

Mt question is, is this becasue during the download my files got corrupted, or perhaps 7zip and winrar, which is also on my comp, colide to cause the programs to opperate incorrectly.

Or is it just that I don't know what Im doing haha, if so could someone please coach me.

Again sorry for this, I am obviously no where near the lvl in computer knowlede that all of you appear to be, and frankly some one you amaze me, the work that you do should include some kind of financial award.

Once you download the mod there will be only one folder. I used WinRAR, which is the easiest in my opinion. Just extract that one folder into the Mods folder of the Sins game located in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner (or whichever folder contains all your Documents and Settings)\Local Settings/Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods

Its a mouthful there but all should be there as said. If you cannot see your Local Settings folder, it is most likely hidden, therefore you will go back to the C drive, click on Tools\Folder Options\View and then select the option View hidden files and folders.

That should do it mate. Try it and if it doesnt work, come back around and we will get you through it. Cheers!


Oh and BTW...I think the reason you cannot open the file is because it probably failed to extract somehow in the first place, as you are probably aware that zipped files cannot be opened before being extracted. (I hope I'm not insulting your intelligence). Furthermore, try extracting the folder with both 7zip and WinRAR...both should work just fine as they did for me. However, as I said, just come back if you continue having problems. Everyone is willing to help. Cheers!

Thankyou for the quick response, that was the issue, when I got a new HD all of the files were hidden unlike my old HD.

But now the issue of extracting the mod comes into play. every time I try to extrat it the program sats it cannot, winrar says no archive. I tryed just moving the file to the mod folder, and loaded the game, went into mods and it was not see it at all.

While I am at home here, and not back in college, I have dial up, so to dl the file took just over 10 hrs hahahah

I really don't want to do that again so from the situation that I have read to you if you believe that this is my only choise please tell me so i can get crackin

Its highly unlikely that a new race will be added anytime soon to the mod because of limits to the coding potential. Hopefully those limits will be reduced a bit with either a new patch or in the next expansion and new inclusions can start rolling in. I wouldnt hold my breath though, as Ironclad seems to be stuck in vertigo. :(

And no offense, but the Protoss seem to fairly low on DANMAN's list as a potential race. Ultimately, all decisions are up to him, and he isn't a big Starcraft fan. He's got more than enough to deal with with the Star Control stuff, Master Of Orion stuff, as well as finishing the UNSC from the Halo mod for 2.0 FINAL. DANMAN also wants to add the Stargate races in, as well as the Freespace factions as well, and possibly the Hiigarans/Vagyr from Homeworld 2. Basically, he has a LOT to deal with, and even though his team is good, they are still only people and as such have lives to deal with.

Sparda, thank you partner for speaking in my absence. SHOOTME11, I would love to add them, but as you can see, I have many more things to deal with right now. Some players wanted the Zurg in too, so the Star Craft thing is on the radar, but far off into the distance. Enhancing the current races, plus finishing my Atlantians, as well as Star Control, Master of Orion, Star Gate and Halo are right now enough for me. But, if someone doesn't mind taking the reigns on a Star Craft mod, then I will not mind putting them into 7 DEADLY SINS. The more the merrier is what I have always said.

Now, hopefully I can do it, this being said since the recent issue with the limits of the game engine. Trust me though, I will push this game to its limits, all to give you, the players, the best gaming experince possible.

Danman, if it is necessary, you could temporarily create a second seven deadly mod until the hard coded limits change (if they do). This would allow you to continue producing and releasing the mod, and then after the limits had been raised, you could recombine the two mods.

Yes, you can look at it lke that. The fact is, these factions were created out of need, as the original races were quickly being overwhemed by the new, more powerful races that are being discovered. The TEC, Advent, and Vasari were nearly wiped out by the Kohr-Ah invasion. The Atlantians have also done a good job enacting their revenge upon the Vasari, so that made their numbers even smaller.

Then of course there is the Rogue, and them trying to steal every ship they can get their hands on, and the other races being left helpless....

So this resulted in a much more military approach for all the original races. The TEC finally unified all their forces and efforts, ceased any infighting, and created the Trade Coalition Alliance, with all the homeworlds allied together.

The Advent, realizing that their greatest asset is their influence and their mass amount of fighters and shields, concentrated on this to create a higher sect, the Unity, the very core of the Advent. Now, they will be able to more easily enact their revenge upon the TEC, all the while staving off atacks from other races.

The Vasari, now nearly extict in this sector of the galaxy due to the Kohr-Ah enslaving them or just exterminating them, and the vengeful Atlantians, who has been seeking justice against the Vasari for betraying them, their creators, for over 100,000 years. And they have been quite successful at this. So, out of desperation, the Vasari had no choice but to bring in the Dark Fleet, to bolster their forces here, and prevent them from being exterminated.

BUT, the real reason, is so I can mod the original races, will still leaving a "vanilla" version for those players who do not like the new races, so they can simply delete the new ones, and still have the originals there.

So DANMAN, you want me to do some shield penetrating beams for the Unity? Or would that be too powerful?

Oh, and I forgot to mention something I added in for the TCA. The Cluster Missiles research has been moved to Tier 5, and is now a passive ability. So the TCA LRM frigate is even more overpowered.
