TEC and Advent in 1.03

I want to ask..is TEC in 1.03 become extremely powerful.  My friend and i played separate single player games.  He said for him, it was way too powerful because it can get income way too fast.  For me...i find that its abilities to collect crystal is extremely slow.  He thinks advent is useless, because their ships are so weak.  I told him..no, but they have good shields.

In my current game, i am being attacked by 3 different factions, one vasari and two advent.  The vasari faction, i don't know which ships are keeping them to heal their ships.  Is it their reintegration abiliters on their enforcers.  Because it has become a war of attrition, and it takes forever to get rid of any one of their fleets.  I never played the vasari before with the exception of doing it once online.   I heard the vasari's returning armada got nerfed in 1.03 and it is only effective in late game.  Is that true??

The fleet capital ship, the one that deploys fighters, has a healing ability that it uses on other capital ships.

As to one faction being too strong or something, it's all in how you play the faction you are using. The Advent are extremely powerful if you focus your research for various vessels and make good use of your skilltree. I have seen my friend really excel with them because I think their millitary is one of the best in the game.

I see it as:

TEC - balanced between trade and war
Vasari - more trade based with good military later on
Advent - Military based with trade sprinkled in

Due to the way the black market functions at the moment, credits are extremely powerful in 1.03 and the TEC get earlier access to trade ports (as well as trade-boosting research) than the other factions. They also get research that improves black market trade rates.

They aren't unstoppable but they do have a fairly large economic advantage.

As far as I know, nothing has happened to Returning Armada. People just don't talk about it as much lately because there's really not much to say that hasn't already been said.

Returning Armada hasn't been nerfed, although usually it can only be used later in game because of how dangerous and expensive rushing it can be (although with allies helping and shielding it can be stupid powerful).

Advent ships are fairly weak Armor wise, but they have very good shielding (and with research quite a nice bit of Mitigation to it). A well balanced Advent fleet though can be very hard to start killing units in due to the strength of the support ships and the various abilities of Capitals. Advent probably is the weakest of the factions with the current balance because of the lack of a strategically viable counter to LRMs (tactically they can be fought with Defense Vessels or Drone Hosts, but in the grand scheme of things these units aren't nearly as useful as the LRMs you're trying to kill) and the lack of show-stopping end game techs (no crazy TEC economy, Novalith, or Returning Armada).

Still a good faction if played well, but TEC definitely has an edge over them.
