Patch 1.4 update???

I was under the impression that the dev's were shooting for a release of 1.4 last week.  Obviously that wasn't made, but I was hoping for something this week???

Has there been any news or updates on 1.4 status?

Thanks,

Transplatin

Yarlen posted I think Tuesday in the 1.04 preview thread that they're not aiming for sometime next week. They weren't happy with how some stuff was playing out and wanted to tweak it a bit more.

:SURPRISED:  Yarlen said the opposite of what you just reported, Annatar :

« We're aiming for next week, but not sure exactly when. » (Yarlen, April 1)

0wnt back at ya: when Annatar11 pointed out a typo of mine the other day. ;)

I wonder why 1.04 got pushed back. Ah well, except for the problem where re-loading a saved game tends to lose the initial settings, it works well for me. Oh, and the problem where my ships like to stand there and NOT auto-engage the turrets at the pirate base...

I did guess that Annatar had done an accidental typo ... but I couldn't resist rubbing his face into it.  ;)

Just to be thankful that we have a publisher who takes care of patches seriously as it should.

Look at the patch progresses of Supreme Commander and Dawn of War by THQ, the difference is day and night.

For chrissakes, just make sure you include a clock. A little one on the screen somewhere, or maybe a big one superimposed over the background, tastefully arrange out of space dust or stellar phenomena, I don't care how, but please recognize that some of us are working parents that cannot always afford to lose track of the time in this wonderful game y'all've put together.

I mean, do you really want Civ IV to have one and not Sins? I mean, they never leave Earth until the end of the game!

Do not double post.
Do not triple post.
There is an edit button for a fucking reason.

And sticking "include a clock" into every possible thread, when there are many alternative methods of telling time readily available... :P

The plan was to get it out this week, but we wanted more time to keep balancing things as some changes weren't quite working as we'd hoped.  The current plan is to release v1.04 next week. :)

There you are, Annatar : we hope that you finally get it !

Better to wait and have the angry mobs yelling at you then releasing it too soon to make the angry mobs happy which will result in the angry mobs throwing torches through the windows.

We want to do a game night with you guys once 1.04 is out so it's particularly important that we're all happy with it. :)

lol seriously why do people keep asking for clocks.......put your own clock by the computer or a watch or a cell phone or PC alarm software or buy a damn rooster!

There will be a few angry loud mouths regardless. Even if it's perfect.

Not only would I like a clock, I would also like to have an OPTION for the host to end the game at a specified time (a timer) for multiplayer games.

Example, during the week I only have 2 hours to play per night, so I would like to be able to host a game that ends exactly at 2 hours. If players do not want to join such a game then allow them the freedom to choose. I would also like to be able to play a very large map and have it end at 2 hours if I wanted. I don't want to be limited to very small maps.

I have a clock (cost $3.99) right beside my computer. It was an easy way to "patch" every game I have with a clock  ;p

I think it's great they are putting off 1.04; I can wait a week easily if I know they are testing it. The majority of other game companies don't put off patches because they are testing them, they delay releasing them because they have 1 person working on it for months. . .

I think people want a game clock showing elapsed time. Not the time zone clock.
