Remote Installation Issues...

I've been kinda slogging through the various online supports - my friend used my email for his galciv2 account, I forgot this, and I've gotten a headache as a result.
I tied my serial to this forum account, which seems to be working for now. But when I try to patch -

"The path registry value at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\stardock\drengin.net\sins appears to be blank. Be sure you have the game installed."

Now, because I have no DVD drive on my gaming comp, I had to put this on the laptop and transfer the folder over the network - undoubtaly why this error is here. But how exactly do I turn on this mythical switch?

Yep. To get a proper installation on your desktop, rather than installing it on the laptop and copying the game folder, copy the entire contents of the install disc over (or just share the DVD drive), then run the installer from the desktop machine.
