Basically, as my fleet moved around fighting those dastardly AI, this Kortul(?) ship of mine kept trying to jump back to the planet that created it - as Vaylord said, if an order was issued, it would complete the order, and if the gravity well was clear of enemies, it would go back to trying to "warp home". My blood pressure rose accordingly, since it was a vital player in a hectic campaign against a superior enemy force... but yeah.
