Will 1.04 fix any minidump issues?

Will 1.04 fix any minidump issues?

If so which?

If not will 1.02 be made available for those of us who can play, just singleplayer.

I have had very few minidumps in the past, and most of them were in patch 1.03
I just updated to 1.04 the other day and was able to play through a whole game without any issues.

If SYS Specs mean anything

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Processor
1.5 Gigs of RAM
ATI Radeon x700 256mb PCIe
Creative SoundBlaster LIVE! PCI

4 HD's
3 290 gigs SATA
1 240 gigs IDE

Game runs very smoothly when playing, although
in the larger galaxies with 3 or more stars
it starts to lag up a bit no matter what I put
the video settings to.

Hi Guys,

Wasnt sure if I should start a new thread or post in here. Regarding the mini dump nightmare myself and my friends have been having plenty of issues, it's driving me slowly insane as I cant get enough of this game.

I have however noticed some interesting things happening with regard to the 1.04 patch and mini-dump issue's.

Timeline of mini-dump events.

(1) 1.03 no mini-dumps
(2) Installed 1.04 (Downloaded from stardock central) first two games long ones 5+ hours no problem with my mate Weaner
(3) 3rd Game played with two other friends I suffered mini-dump about 3hrs in
(4) Tried to play again with one of the previous friends and one new guy. New guy on trying to join the game, he is told that his version is incompatible on splash screen. He reinstalls and suffers same problem. ALL PLAYERS USING SAME VERSION
(5) Mini Dumps on my comp now occuring after 10mins even in single player
(6) I re-patch 1.04 (Downloaded from sins website)manage to play another 5 hour game with my mate weaner
(7) Discover also when I repatch that "new guy" from point 6 is now able to join muliplayer
(8) After a few decent games Mini dumps seem to have disappeared
(9) Play a game with one of the same guys from point 3 I suffer a mini-dump again
(10) Hopes shattered
(11) Look to forums again for help and see the thread about setting errorlog=true (cant remember full details on the fly) try that and a re-patch, manage to get about a 3 hour game in before a minidump (same guy from point 3 again)
(12) It seems like there is some kind of pattern here but im no computer expert so thats why im posting this here.

On a sub note regarding point four it seems that the mini-dumps on certain players comps have made it incompatable to others, maybe im wrong but it is a strage one. Im not sure even if its some subtle differance between the patch on Stardock Central and the Sins website.

And my last point is please forgive my ignorance of all things 1's and 0's related :)

The incompatibility/patch version issue was caused by a bug in the Impulse beta client. Those who patched with Impulse could play with each other, but nobody else. That's why the stand-alone patch from the site fixed all those issues.

O yea alot of people arnt having mini-dumps and only a few people have had the Xbox 360 red rings of death. IT KEEPS CRASHING AND I HAVE ALL UPDATED SOFTWARE I REALLY WANT TO PLAY A GAME AND NOT HAVE IT CRASH HALF AN HOUR INTO IT!

For the last time, the problem IS NOT the minidump!
Seriously, your logic sounds like the Federal Government shutting down phone lines in the entire state because people die when other people call the cops to report murders...

stardock should make a version or patch of the game that would turn off the mini dump notification, so that all the people who are complaining that the minidump is causing them problems can fix their minidumps.. the game will still crash, but then maybe they could get past the minidump issue to realize that their equipment/drivers/mods/viruses/other running programs might be to blame
alternately, ironclad could take the microsoft approach, and when it crashes, just collect whatever info they like and send it in to themselves ;P

...minidump crashed you, click ok so we can get his data and beat him up

Speaking for Stardock, our position is this:
We do monitor the forums and we are definitely aware that some people are having problems.
But we also ask that those people have some common courtesy too.  I understand the frustration they have but they need to recognize that, as a percent, very few people are running into problems with the game and that almost every time we do go through the trouble of disecting what is causing these problems it ends up hardware related or mod related -- usually after hours of them first insisting that they have no mods and their hardware was "standard" (when in fact they're overclocking something or have a 5 year old sound card driver or buggy network driver).
Purchasing a game does not give someone the right to be nasty and rude to either Stardock or Ironclad. If you run into a problem with the game and you bought it from us, then we'll happily refund you. If you bought it elsewhere, you can pursue whatever their refund policy is.  All we can do is try our best to help you either with software updates that fix bugs in our code or try to diagnose what it is on your end that is causing problems.
However, no one has the right to spam other people's posts with off topic complaints (as I've seen) or being insulting.  I've already given moderators permission to take away posting priviledges of those who do. I don't think anyone is going to get a lot of traction trying to argue that Stardock doesn't have exceptional support for its games.  All we ask in return is some courtesy, patience, and help in helping you.
