ie WOW has a page that indicates which realm is up or down.
Devs need to learn from blizzard.
My friend just got this game TODAY. Should be a good experience for him.
Right now, the blame is looking like Impulse.
Those who got it from the web or from SDC can play each other.
But those of us (ahem like me) that got it from Impulse, can't. Since we're all mixed in there..boom.
Basically right now it looks like Impulse didn't update all the files correctly. But like I said, since some of us are mixed in there with the rest of you who have tghe right file, you have headaches connecting. Now that we've identified, wej ust have to come up with a fix.

You mean other than the several posts by me in this very thread? ![]()
We have ICO down while we're working on the issue.
Okay, we're back up.
Here's the deal: The Impulse beta was updated to try to handle lots of files really fast (in SDC, downloading an update takes awhile because it has to do a massive file comparison, Impulse has a new way that is much faster but ran into a bug tonight with the Impulse update that we have to fix). So what happened is that those who downloaded from Impulse (like me) had a file that was different than everyone else causing connection grief.

When there is grim, scary man in black armor choking employes for mistakes, people work lot harder to avoid them

Just so I'm clear, if I updated from SDC. (Assuming that is the Stardock Central system) then I do not need to apply this patch? When I log into SDC I dont' see a prompt to update so I'm assuming that all these games giving me the host has a different version messages mean that those people used this file to update instead of stardock?
Patched from SDC but multiplayer no longer working, can see the game to join but says different versions or something like.
We have 3 computers with 3 registered versions of Sins, just trying uninstalling on all and a reinstall let’s hope that works...
Two of the computers where ok just the third one got the error, the one that was patched first straight after the patch came out.
Will let you know if a complete reinstall on all three works!

It says "account name not found"
CptSiddy: I was just able to login to ICO fine.
Frogboy: is there a file, with date and time parameters, or maybe a lack of file, that I should be checking for? I updated via Impulse, and while I then redid my update using the standalone patch, I did not reinstall the game from scratch, so I'd feel better if I could somehow check my installation and make sure it's now correct. Thanks!

Well I know for a fact we all got the update from SDC, checked to make sure all mods where turned off still would not work...
Ok all sorted, reinstalled on all three computers no problem now works fine. The uninstall did not remove the hidden files so remove them manually just to make sure.
Unfortunately it wasted two hours so we didn't finish the game, still there’s always next time!

Still waiting to find out how I can ensure my Impulse updated 1.04 is valid,

And once again since a standalone patch has been made, it's already on places like Fileshack. Have fun pirates!
