xsiftk?

what is it?

Everytime i try to export something from blender or sketch up it always becomes an xsiftk file. What is it and how can I make it become a regular xsi file?

with sketchup, i am exporting as a google 4 .kvm er something like that. then rename the file to a .zip. open and extract the .dae file from the models folder. Then import that into xsi modtool. That's as far as i have gotten. Now i have to figure out the rest of the steps like weapon/engine placements, textures and lots of other 3d modelling related things im probably not aware of yet. And figure out how to use xsi modtool, great. making the model was fun though. gotta love the sketchup.

if you have pro cxan't you export directly to .dae format anyways? I don't see the button to import from .dae though  :(

To the best of my knowledge, .xsi and xsiftk are the same thing. When I export from XSI ModTool to dotXSI, they show up as .xsi in program, but when I look at the properties in windows explorer, is shows them being xsiftk. I dunno, just try doing whatever you are doing with the xsiftk file and see if it works.

wait does xsiftk work for you??? Can you get them ingame?? Because when i load my models into Convertxsi it refuses to accept them. I get zero everything: tangents, materials, etc.
Then i try to load them into modtool and it always crashes (on every model format). They only open in blender but when they are in there they look great! I have only gotten one model to open in modtool but that was in obj and it still didn't export to xsi right. :(

hmmm... you've got me stumped. All I use is modtool, so I'm not as experienced or informed about blender or sketchup... Sorry, man, don't know what to suggest.

Well thanks for the help anyways. I'll figure out something but in the meanwhile this puts my mod at a standstill
