Newb needs to know how to open .entity files

I've got a really newb like question.  I want to edit things like how many units you can start with, how many squadron fighters a bay can hold, things like that.  I have the Galaxy Forge Tools, and I'm running on ver 1.04.  My question would be....What do I use to open the files in the GameInfo folder?  When I click on a file, I get that dumb response as to "what program I want to open the file with, or do I want windows to find it on the net?"  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanx!

open it in a text editor, you can use notepad personally I recommend a product called EditPad Lite.

Dont forget that you cant just open .entity files in a default game directory, they have to be the same version files that come with the MOD tools. otherwise it will be in binary (sp?). hope that helps.
