Vista 64 cannot install patch 1.04

The install target in the registry is reporting that it is looking in \SOFTWARE\stardock\Dregin.net\Sins and is leaving out the \Wow6432Node that should be after SOFTWARE.  The worst part is that I have downloaded three of these and they are all the same, yet others report that it was accurately targeting their 64 bit registry directory.

Thanks!

Devs,

Was there an initial release of this without the proper target?  If so then the new file should be incremented to reflect this immediately with a warning for 64 bit users posted on the site so the old file is killed off.

Cheers!

No problems here with the 1.04 patch on Vista 64 Ultimate. I bought a retail game with box. Not sure if the versions purchased online are different.

Good luck!

I did not state it in my original post, but I am using the manual patch. I like to save them so that I can use particular ones for particular mods.

I guess I'll have to try and edit the registry manually then.

Thanks Psychonic and CommanderAdama!

Additional

Obviously the program installer (not patch) is not working properly, since uninstalling removed none of the files. So I did it manually and then reinstalled Sins. After checking the registry to make sure it had not messed up again, I installed the patch with no problems at all. I should have tried installing 1.03 first to see if that did it, but I cannot image them rewriting the registry with wonky values in a patch. If anyone encounters problems installing a patch on top of another patch be sure to let us know. With a few 100K of us, any info goes a long way.

Cheers!
