My ships decided to traverse the void without jump engines!
Hi everyone...
A rather funny thing happened to me last night. I was playing a game on the map 'gateway' (single player game) and all was going well, until I told my fleet to jump to the neighbouring planet. The ships passed the usual jump location just at the border of the gravity well, left the gravity well and started to traverse the void of space in a reincarnation of the Great Trek
They did not jump...just kept moving toward the next planet (oviously they didn't get there) I had to order them back to the border of the gravity well and reinstate the order to jump. Then they finally obeyed me and jumped. I took screenshots of the event just so that people would believe me, and I'll upload them when I can.
In a second strange occurrence, my fleet (when told to all jump together to a distant planet) split itself up and my one capital ship jumped one totally different way, and the rest jumped together. I think that perhaps could have happened because the phase lane length calculation for the 'shortest route' was different for the ships relative to that one cap which was on the other side of the gravity well - but thats a BIG guess
I do think it would be good to fix this 'glitch' and force a fleet to always jump together when instructed to do so and along the same route - I nearly lost that cap as it stampeded through enemy territory ![]()
Anyway...has anyone else experienced this problem?
Keep well.
