Allied AI is garbage !

So i'm doing a 3v3 game , my closes ally is a vasari player , i get attacked by the 3 enemy players in the 3 systems i own , my vasari's allies' idea of " helping " is warping between the 3 systems and watching it get blown to crap and hearthing as soon as he reaches to another one of my system's under attack to warp again and again and again. Does 1.4 fix this ?

is it locked teams? if it is unlocked your ally can be allies with the enamy so he wont attack.

Also you can tell the AI what to do you know? defend a area and attack a area? I have never really done it myself but how you do it I am sure is select a planet then press one of the ping buttons that pops up on the right hand side.

I have found the allied AI quite competent. During the very first games i played, they have actually saved my ass a couple of times. They also respond to the help requests if they are able to do it.
