How to post replays?

Where do I find autoreplay files on my harddrive?

How do I post them here?

The replays are located in your user path (Docs and Settings AppData\Local\ on XP, or User \AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ on Vista), in the appropriate folder, either AutoRecord-Multiplayer or Singleplayer.

To post a replay, you can go to wincustomize.com (Stardock's file hosting system), use your Stardock (this forum's) login info and submit to gallery > Sins Replays.

Alternatively, if it's a bug replay or something you don't intend as a showcasing replay, you can just use a free file hosting site like rapidshare.com, or simply zip it up and email it to [email protected] if it's something you want them to look at.

I'm tired at work, but hopefully the rambling makes sense :P

On Vista, replays are found in:

C:\Users\

That above directory should read
C:\Users\(yourUsername)\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire

Also note that AppData is a hidden folder, so you'll have to set the Views advanced setting in Folder Options control panel to show hidden files & folders.

Reading your other post, I'd recommend using a free file hosting site (I tend to use rapidshare). Wincustomize database probably shouldn't be used for bug/issue replays ;)

Thanks much for all the help. Gosh I hate Windows. Even with all the specific help in this thread, it took me more than 20 minutes to find the darned replay folder! The file arrangement in XP and beyond is the most insane thing I ever encountered. I understand this is a fruit of the illegal and immoral effort to corner the browser market (and other markets) by completely smearing the boundary between OS and applications.

Anyway, please forgive me if I post this in several places--

You can find my very interesting "clogged furball" situation on the following replay:

http://rapidshare.com/files/107836397/Furball.zip.html

It's only about a 400K file.

Watch what is happening on the planet Gethsemane and its neighbor (in the red Vasari solar system).

Use 8X with everything revealed. The really interesting stuff starts after a few minutes. Watch what is happening with all the fleets at Gethsemane, especially after my second fleet with lots of flak frigates turns up. Also notice what happens after I get tired of the standoff, jump to the neighboring planet, and jump right back.

There are several threads on this apparent issue with Sins 1.04: /General/Clogged Furball, /General/The Battle of Gethsemane, and several related threads in the /Technical forum.

I went to a lot of trouble to figure out how to post this, because I think the situation is quite fascinating. Curious for feedback.
