Which game has more control of ships during a battle?

I would like to know which game do you think has more control of individual ships during combat. Is it Sword of the stars 1 and or 2, or is it Sins?

I have played both of them and there is a few similar things that are common to both, no doubt Sins have more tougher looking human and alien ships, however when it comes to eye candy, in my opinion Sword seems to have more appealing eye candy such as moving turrets on the human ships  and some of the aliens ships as well, and if you will notice a lot of the game play is somewhat similar since they are both rts games including the maps!

If anyone has played both games then maybe you can give your take on whats different between Sins and Swords of the stars and what is similar?

P.s. Sword of the stars gold edition is comming out this month and I will see if it is up to you big time Sins player standard  ;)

I got no clue which has more control. But a quick look on Sots website and trailer has em saying this.

Get Sins not Sots.

Ìf you ask about sci-fi games in general, I would say Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.

I'd be a lot more interested in that game if I could ever figure out the controls in the demo.

I love Sins a lot and so I use them as a measuring standard against other games, so when Sword of the stars gamers started making comparisons with the tatical aspects of Sins then I wanted to know how some of you true gamers felt who have played Swords for some time, the Sword of the stars gamers already know that Sins has way better looking ships that is a no brainer there, but what about the empire building side and the military side?
Who has the better user friendly controls?

Sword of the Stars has more detailed ship combat, but it is also has a slow paced strategy map component. Sins is better for faster games. SotS games take all day...or week.

SotS notes:
Turn based strategy bit (Macroeconomic, not civ-style), real-time tactical.
More diverse factions. (Mostly in that each has a different way to traverse space.).
Design your own ships. (Always a big plus for me, even if it is more variations on templates than entirely new designs.).
Very Big Flagships With Lots Of Impressive Guns.
Time limit on battle duration (times out with a draw after some time pass, and 'some time' can be determined but is 2-3 minutes by default.).
Sometimes annoying ship AI, or lack of it, esp. with regard to cloaking/stealth.
Random tech tree. (Random bits are missing every game, so you can seldom get all the cool techs you want/like.)
Change from strategy to tactical mode takes a too long loading screen (compared to SoaSE which doesn't even 'change' between strategic and tactic mode.).
Definitely only MP for the VERY patient, even if it is simultaneous-turn.
More dramatic starting screen music. ;)

SoaSE notes:
Seamless integration of battle and economy.
More user friendly fleet control.
Definitely more polished, better graphics.
More mod-friendly.

Sword of the Stars is great, in many ways, but what it is definitely NOT good at is multiplayer. Forget it if you want to play that, it'll take WEEKS unless you take out the tactical battles and go with auto-determined instead, and that's the good thing about the game. Also, SoaSE is definitely more polished in most departments. (Even if it could use a fix or two, but 1.1 looks promising in that regard.). I've played plenty of Sword of the Stars, and it is good, but it is also, even more so than SoaSE, made by a small-time developer without too much in the way of resources. I have little problem with the lack of polish, but many do. (It, too, has gotten better with patches. Lots better.).

Sword of the Stars and Sins are just about equal, IMO. In 1.0, Sins beats SotS 10/10, however - mostly due to those damn asteroid swarms. Sit there for five minutes while rocks hit a planet? No thanks! Luckily, those are a lot rarer in the current build, and the time compression feature makes it bearable.
