Bug with Pirates

So I just played a 1 vs 1 on a small random map vs the AI.

During the game each time I 'won' the bounty of the pirates, my bounty would not reset to zero... the clock for the next bounty would start exactly where it left off... Just increasing each time...

Obviously this saved me a lot of money...

I was under the impression that the winner of the bounty would have his money taken and reset to zero.  While the loser would keep his bid until the next go round...

Anyone else seen this?

I believe that each time the "loser" of the bounty gets a ship destroyed, then the money is deducted from the bounty coffer.

The bounty remains on the table until it's depleted by killing ships/structures/colonies whether or not you won the "bounty fight".

Hmm interesting... That would suggest that they never managed to kill a ship except for the very first raid....

I would have thought they would be more effective.

I guess they're still good for tying up resources of your opponent...

Againts a good player or good AI the pirates do little other than buff the cap ships.
