All will join the Unity, in time.

I just love capital ship skill synergy. And having a useful colony capital is great.

Vasari, more for the mood.

Although I like the B5 vibe I get from both the TEC and Advent (come on, the Advent Are the Mimbari. You know it's true)

TEC since it's the race that best fits my playing style (I prefer to macromanage over micromanage).

Random, for the "I WIN" button.

Anyway, I prefer Vasari for the ships designs.

Advent, because they have the most varied number of effective strategic maneuvers of all the races and their top capital ship experience bonus tech is useful all the time.

TEC for the Capital ships "Kol" and the "Kodiak" for the front lines. ;)

Hehheh, darn right. Advent are certainly a favored race for me, and that's one of the reasons. Always been a huge B5 fan.

Wow, and here I thought I'd be in the minority. Advent is my fav, has been since 1.0, just because.

TEC because of the ship designs and the "Kol" The Kol is freakin' awesome in close combat!

Vasari and Advent.

TEC looks good in all terms and mainly armor.
Advent is most beautiful and peaceful nature, but also deadly in time ;)
Vasari are kind a corvette frigate preferable so far.

They all are balanced fine and uses different technologies.

The Advent are great. I like Vasari a lot, too but...I just finished a 6.5 hour game with Advent. I love the illuminators and their siege frigates, plus their technology are just plain useful. All hail the "experimental weapon" mixed with the cultural upgrades. The cap ships are great too...I am convinced that one of each of their caps at max level could take out the other factions' under the same conditions. I also love the massive damage the, as I have dubbed it, "Ion Cannon" (three guesses what this is) does with all possible bonuses attached (including the Malice and Guidance abilities). Altogether great fun to play as, although a bit slow to start.

well, as i said before, the tec rule, but i like all three factions, the tec due to their amount of armor and firepower, the advent for their special abilities, and the vassari for their cool voice.(and cool alien design of ships, not to mention the power, though lack of armor. well, keep posting and feel free to argue with me<(O_O)>

All three factions have their advantages. The TEC have awesome battlecruisers and when they level up they can become beasts. With the upgraded GAUS ability they can do up to 800 damage in one shot. The Vasari definitely have the firepower. They also can gather resources the fastest. Also, fully upgraded phase stabilizer tunnels can call in reinforcements of 3-5 Heavy Cruisers, 3-5 long range frigates, and carriers FOR FREE. I had about ten planets with these and I didn't have to build any new ships for the rest of the game. The capital ships have great deseigns and so do their frigates. Heavy cruisers do 28 damage and have good health. Also, fully upgraded skirmishers and missle ships do about 13 and 17 damage respectively. Though tha capital ship abilities aren't that great. Now my favorite are by far the advent. Their capital ship experience ability is outstanding. You can quadruple the firepoqer and abilities (which are by far the best in combat, especially with a mix) of each capital ship with having to guard it closely in every fight to get the experience. Illuminator vessels do about 20 damage and only use about 5/6 supply. Also the Destra Crusaders are strong with the added ability to do 1.5 damage per second to any enemy in range. (This can Add up)

Advent tactic is to get a capital ship and expand as quickly as I can. Get two choke points well defended and get the capital ship experience research. Build three fleets of two Radiance Battleships, Revelation Battlecruiser, and two rapture battlecruisers. Let them level up and in the meantime get as many destra crusaders and illuminator frigates. Separate into three fleets. (If you can take one fleet and bettle through 5 heavly defended planets, 7 capital ships, several squadrons of bombers/fighters, and about fifty frigates, Your fleet is strong enough {I hate losing any ships})Two stay to defend and on branches out. When there are only two solar systems left I use only one fleet to defend. and when there is only one solar system left I bring in all three fleets and let them each go their own way. Slowly I bring them together and get an even more unstoppable fleet.

TEC, 'cause no matter how much I hate people, I'll never abandon my species.
And because we've got the best of:
Music
Voices
Appearances
Armor
Hull Strength
Brute Strength

And you can't deny how awesome it looks when a Novalith shell hits a planet.

Advent, for the aesthetic purposes and how Advent can for their more versatile units.

I started going for Advent around a week after I got the game (played TEC for the basics) and fell in love with them, in no small part for the Progenitor. Sure, it's frail in big battles, but I loved being able to have a colonizer and shield restorer in one package (something TEC needs two ships for) and then after learning things the power of Malice started to shine as well.

But on a strategic level, I like how the Advent can get away with having a fewer number of ships and still be able to combat larger fleets. This is kind of needed with their pretty inferior economy, but it can be great to jump into a gravity well, zoom out and see the bars stacked against you, but just massacre the opposition anyway.

Hi I have only really played TEC so they are my favourite, plan to get good with vasari next. I aint playing advent until after the next patch since I dont want dissapointment. I dont even think I have built a novalith yet :) , the research is so big! hopefully I will be able to try some other races in a few weeks but TEC seems really intuative even though their late game ships in certain circumstances feel squishy. I like them because the way they are balanced Im having to think about many aspects and well I think that should improve my game throughout time. Watch this space in the next few weeks though as I will be trying vasari soon, they sound good in their own way.(but heck they all sound good in their own ways!)

vasari al the way when you micro manage fleet with the overseers you are unbeatable[sorry if spell it wrong]in late game that is, beginning of game multi or single
your kind of vulnerable with the vasari because the ships costs so much

Mostly this depends on how you play. A standard, economy or mixed def-off based player will probably like TEC, mostly because they are easy to use...like the U.S. forces in CNC Generals.
The Vasari are more for the CNC Generals Chinese players...their firepower is nice, and you can quickly get both resources and more ships, if necessary.
As for the Advent...GLA...this is because it is harder to get resources with them, but their strength is tremendous once the economy stabilizes. Another strength here is intelligence and cultural influence, since a specific upgrade allows cultural influence, not your fleet, to determine your sight range. This is nice, especially in long battles.
