CD Key Attached?

I have sins of a solar empire, I have registered and ironclad online account and I've played a few online matches.

I would like to lend my copy of the game to a friend to play for a while. Can he go ahead and make a new ironclad online account with the CD key, or does he have to use my account? I'm pretty much asking if the CD key is attached to my account and only my account can play with that key?

AFAIK, yes. The account is bound to the cd-key.

you can install it on a second computer for single player with no problem.

The online however would require him to buy a copy for himself.

What if i want to sell the game? like to gamestop or something? Any way to unbind from my ironclad account? Or can i just delete my ironclad account straight up?
