to select your carriers.. hold down alt, then click one of them, either on the board or in the fleet display(it selects them all). Then rightclick the edge of the gravity well , next, while holding the shift key, click a circle around the gravity well about 5 times and about 5 or 6 points on the edge for each circle.. that'll get your carriers flying in a circle around the edge, and make them a little less of a sitting duck for everyone to pop, after all, no carriers, no strikecraft
next, click your fleet dots a couple of times, or alt-click a fighter, it'll select all of them. hit control and an unused number, and you've assigned them all to a hotkey. then whenever you want to have them do something, hit the hotkey, and right click whatever you want them to attack.. voila, you can't call their choices dumb after you've made them for them
