Wow if you get that Yamato into the game that would be AWESOME!

Yamato was the name of the bigger battleship of the WWII Japanese fleet but also a manga based on battleships shown here

Wow, i loved that series when i was a child!
It would be really nice to see it in a mod.

I thought the Arcadia was from an entirely different manga series. Same style, different manga AND anime.

I think they called it "Captain Harlock" in North America?

It has to be said that would make a pretty damn fine ship, though from my limited experience of modelling the schematics show a level of detail which would be hard to reproduce with anything but polygons.

Anyone want to try and beat my SoaSE poly count record?  :d

WW 2 Ships in space is awesome!!! Would be great to see a whole race based of different WW2 ships.

I believe Dawn of Victory mod is about WW2 thematics in space. Though probably not as obvious as Yamato. Good design though, if ships were made to fly in space, that's probably how they would look. :)

True but Leiji Matsumoto created both series. You occasionally will see Yamato in the background of some Harlocke Anime.

Only picky point is that the Yamato pictured is a sequel verion called Great Yamato.
There are two versions , other is sometimes referred to as Great Galaxy.

Here is a link to a ship list.
