How do you formation your fleets?

Dear all, how do we create formations for our fleets like Wall formation, delta formation, defence formation etc. like Home world 1 and 2? I have been trying to figure out for the past hours but to no avail. Pls help

There's not really any manual fleet formation control. The ships in a fleet will automatically form into lines and walls sorted by ship types/ranges, though.

Though I would love a few more formation options. I rather miss the “extended quad-claw” look of several hundred fighters rolling around, ready to collapse on a target in a furball of evil.

(Strikecraft really do need to be considered part of the fleet for operational purposes on many occasions; as is, they require babysitting or they are less than effective. Matching each fighter squad up with a bomber squad as a first cut to maneuver together, then putting extra fighters on fleet core defense would be a nice first cut.)
