Mini DUMP MP games

We had a LAN party this weekend. there were 8 Computer and the slowest computer was a Dual core 6600. My Vidcard was rated the worst Nvidia 7950 GT

We all played the Default large map games and 2 to 4 hours into each game we would crap out and get that Mini dump problem. I would like to test a few things including that SinsSyncFix.zip, this look interested and hopefull. anyone else having LAN parties and Can't finish there games. I would like to know if anyone is running this Sinssyncfix patch and or did the other steps below to resolve this minidump issue. IS Ironclad going to release any patches soon to resolve this problem. I love the game but if you can't MulitPlayer with it, it really isn't worth playing. HELP US IRON CLAD Patch 1.5 FTW

Old post below you can read all of them at this link I wish i saw these post on the weekend https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/307544/page/1

I'm going to point this out.

My friends and I had the problem many many times, and the instant we all enabled the crash log through the user setting file it stopped.

Haven't had it since.

After testing, we found it to fix the error. Why it works, I have no idea. When even one person doesn't have that option enabled it crashes. It's been days now without any type of problem, and it used to happen every single game.

As a side note, we are all running sins+, a very popular mod. No problems.

New Info: Please make sure you delete you user.setting file before starting the de-sync testing process. This only needs to be done the first time.

you can find the user.settings here

Vista:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\setting\

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\setting\

I think this is the setting referred to by Ubel Feuer. Is that correct Ubel Feuer?

I have not tested this yet.

Open the file "User.Settings" in notepad and scroll to the bottom.

Change: LogOutput FALSE
To: LogOutput TRUE

Just following up on my own post. Friend and I made the said changes recommended by the op....still got minidump. The steps in the OPs post about changing the LogOutput made no difference for us.

If you are using the sync check executable, and have followed Blair's instructions, AND you still get a crash without the red text he mentions, it means that your problem is not the sync bug. What's left is:

-the pathfinding bug
-a crash due to your hardware
-a crash due to your software (i.e. video drivers)

Try sending your minidump file to [email protected], explain that you were using this exe, and hopefully they can help you find out what this crash was due to.
