Resurrection skill

Can anyone explain what resurrection skill does? i use it but nothing happens, and if u autocast it, its used every time it can, but nothing changes :S

if one of your capital ships die at say level 7. You can buy another one (the same one I have to assume, that you lost) bring it to where your progenitor is and use resurrection on it. This will bring that ship up to the level of the lost one you replaced basically giving you your ship back.
