The gods hate me, or Im just retarded...

Ok so I've been playing sse and love it to death. However, I want to try a mod, namely 7deadlysins but Im having problems. When I go to show the modpath, it gives me a location that doesnt even exist on my computer. I have my game installed in C:\programfiles\ironcladgames but it gives me some other shit that doesn't even exist as the modpath. Also, there is no "mods" folder in my sse and I reinstalled and still no mods folder like there is supposed to be, so I created one thinking that Im supposed to and still I can't play the mod. Someone help me please.

the apps data is a hidden directory if i am not mistaken. To find it use a search(ctrl f) and search for mods or sins of a solar empire and make sure to check search hidden files/directories. Also if you are running sins 1.0 i do not think their is a mods folder, if so update your game.

Are you running XP or Vista?

I run XP, and had to navigate half way round the world to a folder in the "windows" hierarchy to get to the mods folder.

On Vista, I hear it's worse...

In the game, click the "show modpath" button and write it down. I used explorer to find it on my machine. I DO wish they would let me specify my own location... I don't have a "C" drive, mine is "I", which makes things quite interesting.

C:\users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods

And I'm pretty sure on XP it's:

C:\Documents and Settings\{USERNAME}\AppData\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods

I'm running XP, The mods folder in XP is located here: (c:\Documents and settings\(Username)\Local Settings\application Data\IronClad Games\Sins of a solar empire\Mods

Note: You have to Show hidden folders as Local settings is a hidden directory,

to do this go into my computer and click on the tools drop down menu at the top left of the screen and click folder options, then click on the view tab and scroll down until you see hidden files and folders, check show hidden files and folders, and you should then be able to see Local Settings, (you may want to re-hide your files for security reasons)

you dont acualy have to show them, when you hit a dead end, write in the name at the top where it shows the location then press go or enter, and it skips you past it. or jsut write the entire thing.

Ok so if I'm understanding you guys right, the "mods" folder is in fact in a different location than where I chose to install the game. The game is installed at C:\programfiles\ironclad games but the modpath I'm told to follow by the game is something like c:\documentsandsettings\USER\application data\ironcladgames\mods. Oh wait, thanks to Dark dragon for the hidden folders thingy, now I get it. Thanks to everyone who helped me.

just thought people would like to know, but i have vista ultimate, and this is the folder i use:

C:\User\**YOURNAME**\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\

and it works fine for me. Too bad its a hidden folder by default, so i have to keep on typing the entire adress. :(

Or goto the folder from your web browser and save it as a bookmark. :)
