Jayswimmer I was like you initially , I like long winded and good campaigns but tbh the amount of ways to play the game of your own accord is better than a campaign and thats the first strat ever I can say this with. I would rather have seen a campaign in this game as well but the battles are so epic that no 2 games are the same, give it a chance , I have recommended it to my friends but thats what Im worried about that they wont play it for long enough to see it has got some real epic gameplay or visit the forums to refine their start game.
Iron in saying that I usually love campaigns well its funny what you said regarding RTS ones because every RTS campaign I have played has been garbage as well lol
Anyway stick with it Jay I was a bit iffy about it initially when I found it had no campiagn. That made me think the devs had been lazy(Sorry folks
) but then playing the game its really fun and its the only strat I know that isnt all about button bash+first 4 building order+rush. What isnt in the campaign has been put into the actual gameplay and AI. The uber vets see problems in the ai naturally but for many of us it is a challenge if we dont do things correctly from the start.
My only worry is if a campiagn is getting put in the expansion well there gonna have to be some epic gameplay outwith the campaign as well. My only gripe is them talking about an expansion now when I want to see this game get priority for a good long while.(slight resentment in this aspect alone, will be fine once I know for sure this game is going to get continual support even if an expansion comes out because I dont plan to be buying any expansion since I will be at uni) Aside from that concern it is one good game, but looks can be decieving unless you give the game a chance for at least 2 days and check the forums for tips.

Just to repeat a similiar thing to what has been said in the previous post that I am getting major milage out of the ai scenarious as a newbie, I have only tried 3 and I ended up just choosing 1 and sticking with it since things end up totally differant each game on the same map as it is! I also today tried a users custom map , first custom map and it was really good, the layout meant I had a good start game+ we have that map maker thing in game, Im not sure if thats how the custom map I played was made but I will try and make some maps in the future, so thats more replay value.
