See-through planets

You most likely need to update your video drivers.

I have updated my cards but they still look like holograms.

I would check your settings in your graphics card control panel. Sometimes if they are "optimized" for performance the drivers will over-ride the in-game settings to shave off a few effects to increase performance. Check to make sure that a custom video profile is not loaded, normally you have the option to "Restore defaults" in many of those cases.

Actually I also experienced this. I don't think its the graphics card since a semitransparent planet doesn't seem any harder to create than an opaque planet. There was no problem once I installed the full version of the game though.
