General game play question

Hi all, just picked this up at my local game store, looks interesting.

I watched the opening Cinematic, and look very good.

I just completed the tutorials and it seems even more interesting now.

Then I went to start a single player game..... I was expecting, well... I thought there was more than just small medium or large map sets, and a bunch of random generated maps.  Am I missing something that obvious?  Dont get me wrong, the random generated maps look interesting and all that, but after the opening cinematic I was expecting a set of missions, where you basicly play out as if you were part of that cinematic.  I know I am not expressing myself well so far, so let me point at a game that I thought this was like, yet newer and more improved Homewrold.  Basicly, what I am asking then is there a set of missions or some type of time line of missions or what not simmilar to Homeworld?

Again, still looks good so far!

Take a look at any review (on-line or print) and you'll see that the game concentrates on skirmish mode and did not include a campaign (due to time constraints; see link above).

To truly get the most out of the game you should download the Galaxy Forge. WWW Link This allows you to slam out cool maps with a point and click interface.

Ironclad will be coming out with an Expansion Pack that will add a campaign among other things.
