Installation Fails for no Reason

Every time I try to install, it fails just as the loading bar for the 'Windows Installer' completes. An error message comes up but its blank apart from a cross icon. I've also noticed that as the install dialog box loads, there is a strange symbol, and the hard disk requirements are all in muddled-up chinese for some reason. Could anyone tell me what the problem is?

I have a Nvidia 7600gt, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4gh, 2gig Ram, 16gb free hard disk and am installing on Windows XP SP2

P.S. I already have the demo installed. And when I press cancel to stop installing, the confirmation box is also empty.

Hmm, I also noticed that when loading the install program, when there's the strange symbol, it says '--Stardock Corporation10---U----Stardock Corporatio...' (replace the hyphens with boxes)

Odd.. most of the install issues seem to happen because the demo is still installed. I don't recall hearing of this particular one, but it could also be related to still having the demo. Glad you got it working though!

It's true, I have, (or had) the same problem, and I was crushed, because I really wanted to play the game

But really, all you have to do is this:
1. Go to the control panel
2. go to add/remove programs
3. REMOVE the demo, it should be there somewhere
4. Install normaly, the annoying error for no reason should be gone, along with the strange Installaware error characters
5. Note the fact that you have been playing for 72 hours straight

Why the instalation doesn't work with the demo installed, may have something to do with the demo being finished after the game was released, and Install aware was having issues with the instalation directory, or something.

I'm glad it's working now though
