Losing Credits

I installed 1.04 after finishing a 1.03 game last night. Today, I ran a new 1.04 game and found that I couldn't afford anything because I had no credits at all... turns out that instead of having any income, my income was being interpreted as expenses. I was losing my "income" every tick!

Does anyone know a fix to this? I'm going to reinstall the 1.04 patch, but I'm not hopeful.

Yeah, reinstalling 1.04 didn't work. I'm reluctant to do a complete reinstall, so any help would be great.

Yeah, I reinstalled... time to update again.

Um, do I just install the 1.04 or do I install 1.03 first?

Is this from the very start, or after getting a few planets?

There's one map, forget the name, that has you lose credits until you make it a capital. Try another map.

Oh, um, regarding one of my questions...

Do I install the older patches first or do I just install the most recent one? I can't seem to find anyone saying that the newest patch is all inclusive or that I just don't have to worry about the old ones.

You can do the most recent one.

The thing is with that map is it tells you in the description that "life is hard for X colony" or whatever - it's supposed to be challenging.

Yeah, I really didn't interpret it that way. I guess I need some help files set to on, huh?

Anyways, many thanks. The only other problems I have with this game is the enormous amount of time it takes to load up initially and the amount of lag I get in game when it gets big. It's okay, I like smaller, single player games anyway.
