vasari is my worst race, so ignore everything i say, but the Subverter is my favorite non-cap ship, and the lasurak is my favorite LOOKING non-cap ship, so i would recommend 50% subverters and 50% lasuraks. at least it will look sweet and hell if you can disable their whole fleet then a swarm of carriers isn't so bad :)

I won't tell you what I do but with Vasari quanity sems to go a very long way over quality. Swarm the same target and focus fire your victory.

2 kortul, 1 jarrasul, 2 vulcoras, as many skirantras as possible, 20 or so lasurac, and as many revastras as possible
the revastras are quick and manuverable, the carriers' bombers can get rid of frigates and corvettes, the carriers' fighters get rid of fighters and bombers, the kortul and skirantras take the capital ships, the vulcoras bombard the planet, and the jarassul colinizes it.

Lot of Enforcer, lot of Subverter.

I have four wings, to my fleet, and in each wing, I have

Core:
4 Kortul Devastor(Nothing gets thougth these guys)
some number of Skarovas enforcers
some Junsurak Sentinels(they some times run away)

Support
Serevun Overseer
Stilajus Subverter

I'm still trying to get the right number of support ship to combat ships, and am still testing around, with the other ships.

i've found it really doesn't matter what you use, just build what you need to keep from getting your a** handed to you till you can research up to "Returning Aramda".

then you really have nothing to worry about since that will auto spawn a large overwhelming force to all of the planets you hold, then you can just planet hop after you form a fleet and gather your forces in one place, and overwhelm and out gun just about anything you come across.

Save for a high population of pirates, i tried to take out a pirate base the other night on single player after the AI wussed out and quit when i took it's capital planet. UGH forget it no matter how many ships i sent to that damn planet i always got rolled  :NOTSURE:

have fleet hold position when engaging a pirate base. get the enemy to come to you, rape them, then destroy all turrets in series (shift+Click) with fleet and fighters/bombers. Works like a charm, only suffered minor losses.

Truthfully, the Vasari seem rather gimped after starting out playing TEC in the SP maps and then Advent... /drools over advent... and then I get to Vasari and go WTF?! My colony ships can't deal with the conquerable metal/crystal? They just seem tough as hell to do well with after playing TEC and Advent -just seems like they don't pull in either the money or materials the others do.

Also... Could the DEV's please reduce the damn cycle time and antimatter for cap ships offense power guns. For the antimatter used, their one shot nature is just stupidly ineffective.

@ Semaz - actually Vasari get neutral extractors with their scouts, which gives them a huge resource advantage over other races :D

My endgame Vasari is generally:
40+ enforcers with regen
15-20 subverters
5 overseers
1 Evacuator
1 Marauder

-I'll tech up armor every time, wave damage when I have the luxury, and bring in teched skirmishers and flak depending on circumstances

Or alternately-

70+ Assailants
30 Subverters (10 using debuff)

and tech up phase missiles

I've always found that he who holds the most capital ships with the biggest guns usually wins the fight... in my experience... but then again I don't play online. (Sorry internet connection)

What ever RA gives me and I make the non-cap support ships (I don't think overseer comes with RA I never see any) Oh plenty of Cap ships too

also @ Semaz (and anyone else): For the resource issues, I find that hit-and-run tactics combined with "wreckage auto-salvage" tech can provide a resource boost. The resources gained by each structure destroyed aren't much, but every little bit helps (It also sucks to be on the recieving end of that tactic, so it's a win-win for you).
Hope this helps.

Get RA. That'll get most of what you need. However, two ship types come which really have little use. The lansurak and the skirmisher. I scuttle both of these - the skirmisher is flimsy, and most Vasari players go assailants early, and so most people go flack to counter, rendering the transporters little use. Also, enforcers are ridiculously good, and you can better use the supply on them.

You also need to build subverters.even 10 of them will make the difference between life and death against a vastly greater fleet - if you micro them.

Most of these suggestions seem like single player suggestions, to be honest. There is not a super uber vasari fleet. The truth is is that you do what works. On a medium to small map, spam Assailants. Those come quick and with very few structures and upgrades, which leads to a decent fleet fast. Enforcer/subverter are for larger map battles that give you enough time to get them. Typically, anyone who has enough resources to build five military labs and tech to enforcer, start making them, etc, or makes multiple caps, has a huge map or noob opponents. If you aren't fighting in the first twenty minutes, then you're not playing multi or playing multi on a map that's too big for your game.

As far as RA, I had a match that was pretty much won from a few mistakes our opponents made, so I tried it out. It's soooooooooooo damned expensive and time consuming to set up that anyone who complains about it needs to update their AI difficulty or step into the online arena. RA is NOT a viable option without a super good team supporting you the whole way through, and only pays off after a while of having it going. Anyone who says otherwise probably plays games where 8 caps are a viable combat strategy. lol.
