Absolute NOOB Here

OK i have a few questions that hopefully get some responses:

1. Im new to modding, can someone explain to me the process of how to get your ceated ships to fire from certain areas of the ship?

2.Or at least point me in the right direction, i've tried looking for the last 2 weeks and have found nothing?

3.If a ship has a rotating mid section how do you get that into the game?

Open the mesh file, you can find the Ponit Waapon/Ability/Centre/Top/Exhuast....
These dummys make every effect creat at the pointed position and angle.

If you want to look, just use Notepad.
Or you'll need some 3d tools.

You can open a .mesh file with notepad to view or make changes.

If you have you original model in XSI ModTools, you need to create a "rootpoint" under the Scene. Then, under the rootpoint, create a "null" primitive for each of the Weapon/Ability/Centre/Top/Exhuast, etc.

Change the name of each null to match each point. For example...

P001-Weapon-0 This is your first weapon.
P001-Exhaust-0 This is where you ship's exahust port will be.

and so on. Make sure to point each of the nulls in the right direction, like, weapon pointing toward the front of the model, exhaust pointing to the back.

first you need to dl the modtools and all related files as well as the 1.04 reference data.

otherwise you'll be dealing with binary files.

secondly read all pdfs! this will help you a lot.

when you have done all that come back and ask specifics.
