A Way to Determine Enemy Ship Upgrades?

Is there a way to determine how many ship upgrades an enemy has invested in?

For example, if I have 60 LRMs and he has 50 LRMs... i'de like a way to know if h'es upgrade hull, shields, and regen 6 times each before I engage.  Is this possible to determine?

If not, may I make a feature request... :)

The most complete way I can think of is to mouseover one of the enemy ships and read the infocard to compare it to the baseline stats for that ship model. That won't tell you if, for example, it's upgraded to be able to do a suicide attack or cast destructive nanites on you... but I don't think it's a stretch to not see EVERY upgrade the enemy has already accomplished. Most RTS's don't confer this ability.

i suppose, but something like "Armor 4/8" or "Sheilds 0/8" or just some indicator of whether or not lots of money has been dumped into improving those ships would be pretty helpful.

A lot of these upgrades max out at 40+ percent... so it'de be good to know if this investment has been made so i don't accidentally get creamed by a smaller fleet.

I mean i don't need to see EVERY upgrade, whether or not none, some, or many upgrades have been made. And lots of games do tell you that they have Armor Lvl x, or whatever. So i don't think it'de be a stretch to get some sort of feedback either.

If it's just another contingency you have to consider when engaging the enemy, that's fine to. It adds another element of strategy. You need to be aware of how much you've upgraded YOUR ships and have to guess as how how that relates to his upgrades based on his behavior.

Learn the races. I usually do the info card thing. I base line it on the amount of credits it takes to do something. You can guess pretty close using both. Generally if someone has a bunch of ships early they have not done a lot of research. The key is the all so illusive Common sense. Scout and pay attention, plan attacks and not just throw cash to the wind. DC
