Standard steps to resolve Mini-dumps?

I've been trying to play this game but it keeps freezing and dropping me to a mini-dump.  Is there a standard checklist of things to walk thru and check to help resolve this?  As it is, it's a nice $60 paperweight......

I'm on XP with a Dell Core 2 Duo, 3 Gig of memory, etc....  Specs should run this game and not drop me to mini-dump after 5 minutes of play. I've tried the tutorials, a new game etc... every time after about 5 minutes it dumps out.

Send your minidumps to [email protected]; they can analyze them and let you know if there's anything you can do on your end to resolve the crashes (minidumps are just a built-in error logging function for when a crash occurs, for any reason).
