What would it take to make all 20 local militias into galaxy-invading-mongers!!!

At the bottom of the GalaxyScenario def file is 20 local militias, and I was wondering what would happen if you made Player-entity files for them, and all the supporting files to make them act like one of the regular 10 players???


   Could I make one of them into my "Entok" race (this is the intended place for my Entok Militia)... I want them to be a different race than TEC, Advent, or Vasari, but I also want them to not be like any other militia (I could leave them TEC)

also, it's fun to think about evil-invading-local-militias :)

well if you made entity files for them wouldn't they just become a faction?

I Think what you are suggesting should be possible, creating a separate race for the militia definitely is, the only thing I haven't tested is what setting the "IsNormalPlayer" Tag to true does, if your lucky it does just makes it use the normal ai (rather than the pirate or insurgent ai) because that would pivotal in getting them to properly work as a minor empire rather than just the militia.

It can be done with the "IsRace" qualifier in the GalaxyScenario for each planet, sort of how the homeworlds get their extractors and first shipyard, but doing it in this way for all the random elements for each planet would make for a huge file (considering each planet type has qualifiers for if the local militias have colonized their planet or not, and whether they should have 10-20-30 ships, etc... (and there is the possibility that one faction will have two or three starting planets, because there are 60ish planets and 20 militias +10 normal players)

There is all that colonized info for local militias, but it's all set at colonize chance=0 (and messing with that would mean filling in all the gaps that cause planet-modules to not appear for non-defined races), so it might be necessary to have a half-fleshed out race definition for each faction (or just the files for them, filled in with normal TEC stuff), just to get the galaxy to properly spawn things like planet-modules...
