Capital Ship Limit?

I'm making a new race that combines some of the better researches, ships, etc, from each race into one. Well for this I wanted to have six capital ships instead of the usual five, that way I  have two from each race instead of two sets of two and gimp. However when I tried the obvious way (finding the capital ship limit, upping it to six and adding another ship) it didn't show up in game. The mod worked fine, the entire system worked fine excpet that sixth ship didn't show up in the Captial Ship Factory. I tried clicking the block where it would be an nothing happened. I scrolled over all the other ships to see if the card was wrong and they were all right. I even went through a small game and produced all five ships to simply see if the ship itself would show instead of one of the others... and that failed too... Does anyone have any insight on how to solve this problem?

Yep, 5 is max build number.
Instead of build, there is another way.
Add a create-ship ability to some of module, and create a captialship.
But this ship is NOT build, So, a long long cooldown time should be set.

Hmmm that's not a bad idea. And yea, hell of a long cool down for something like that.

For some reason, when I tried giving the TEC some Advent ships, the computers were able to build them. However, on my screen, I couldn't see icons for them or build them. In other words, the AI can build things you can't. I find this odd, and yet it seems perfectly natural. However, it makes you think, "What could I do to make the AI completely UNFAIR and give them a huge advantage?" Right?
Anyways...that was my first thoughts on the subject, but then I discovered what HammerSun told you, just use a module. It seems to work most of the time. Still likie the idea of letting the AI access it while human players can't. It makes them all that much harder. Hardie-har-har! :HOT:
