Should Stardock be serving crackers, or reducing my cheese intake?

The scouts costing 1 maintence got me thinking...
Do you feel Stardock should be spending its time trying to reduce the 'cheese' tactics in GalCiv, or do you feel its time would be better spent on other issues?
This is just a single player game after all. So if a player uses a 'cheese' tactic, aren't they just 'cheating' themselves? Maybe I like to build 'dead zones' to defend my side of the universe. Should SD be spending it's limited time and resources changing GalCiv so that I cannot?
I'll be honest. I might do a cheesy thing or two. But most of the fixes they've made to reduce the cheese, haven't touched me. For instance, I do not use the 'Ring of Scouts' to isolate worlds or resources. With the 1 maintenence cost of scouts, they are encouraging those players that do to use Rings of Freighters, Colony Ships, Drones, and Transports. All easily built, and cheapily in my games. Just not IMMEDIATELY. However, this game change has adversely affected my SP experience/Fun, as I can no longer crank out a dozen scouts from my first few worlds so I can quickly scout out the galaxy. That production now goes into, what else, constructors. My main scouting fleet is not... Colony Ships. It's easy to amass many quickly, it helps keep my worlds in Morale Happy states, and I need more to cover the same distance. This is lending a fleet which is more useful as a 'RING' tactic, btw, so that anti-cheese tactic is just encouraging more...
When is something a change for your enjoyment? When is a change a waste of time for the majority of players not utilizing that particular cheese? And when is an anti-cheese tactic a detriment to everyone's enjoyment of the game?
Which issues are you more concerned about? What game issues do you think our fantastic people at StarDock should be looking into? The new 'Ring of Freighters' tactic that has already replaced the old 'Ring of Scouts'? Late Game Constructor Chaos? The fact that there is no trade good called Chocolate?
