Games for Windows LIVE

I purchased SoSE yesterday and I noticed that it is a Game for Windows LIVE. That being said, how do I log onto Windows LIVE in the game. I know that Universe at War: Earth Assault had a LIVE menu selection on the startup screen. Thank you for your time and consideration.

It isn't; it's just a standard Games for Windows game. Online multiplayer is via our own Ironclad Online system.

What difference is there between a regular game that is not windows live and a standard game for windows live?

Regular GFW games just meet some various technical requirements set by Microsoft, such as compatibility with Vista and limited user accounts, and get listed on the GFW site and shelf space on GFW shelves (in retailers that have such). It's mostly a marketing thing.

GFW LIVE games have additional requirements and use Microsoft's LIVE system for multiplayer, but it's not very popular so far.

Funny that it met Microsofts standards but yet there seems to be an unsolved vista/nvidia driver issue since release.

nvidia isnt micriosoft..
the game may well have passed all requirments for GFW, but if nvidia dont supply decent drivers under vista it wont work will it?
put a ATI card in the same pc and it will work fine and meet all GFW requirments..

I do wish that they also offered the GFW LIVE setup, things like achievements could have been shown then. It's only going to become popular once people start using it.

acheivments can be edited and falsified so it would be useless on windows live, unless the way it is done can be changed.

Just go into your Sins folder through Documents and Settings/User/Local Settings/Application Data/Ironclad Games/Sins of a Solar Empire/Settings

and open acheivment.acheivment in your text editor, and change them all to True....

Games For Windows LIVE sucks. No really.

It made it so bloody frustrating just to start playing Gears of War, and this was just the single-player. All the stupid loops I had to jump through before I could play the damn game was astounding.
