Launcher will not start game.

my specs:  Win XP Home
                 Intel 845MP Pentium 4
                 1gig of ram  
                 2.2 Ghz
                 ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 video card

Ok, i started out with the stock video drivers on my laptop for the Radeon 7500 and they were dated back to 2004 and my the game worked but it kinda skipped alone (very aggervating) So i updated my drivers from Driverheaven.net, and i also tried the ATI Omega Drivers, the latest ones i could possably get. But now with both the launcher launches nice and smooth but once i hit play game nothing happens at all. Ive tried just about everything and i guess this is the last straw before the game meets the trash barrel. Ive messed with the acceloration, performance setting, quality setting, resolution in my video setting and it never loads. I dont understand what im doing wrong someone help......

Have you tried launching the game directly? Go to Stardock Games/Sins of a Solar Empire in your start menu, and choose Sins of a Solar Empire... what happens?

Also, after launching the game, check the processes tab in the task manager. The game might be running even though it doesn't show on screen. If this happens, end the process and try launching again.

Yes, it would be good to check if it is actually launching or not using the task manager.  Then we can figure out whether it is starting and not showing up, or just not starting at all.

Unless I'm mistaken, your video card is way below min-spec for sins.  On the ATI page it says that it only supports directx 7 and has max 32 MB.

Someone I know ran into the same problem. The launcher wouldn't start the game (the game showed up in task manager doing nothing at all). After updating the graphics driver to the latest version, the game would run, but without sound. I had to update the sound driver before it too would work.

Beyond that, I have no idea why it suddenly failed to work. It was working a few days before without issue.

I also have same problem. I played the game for months with no issues. Just tried today and no startup. Downloaded latest version (was v1.3) still no startup.

The latest version should be 1.05, mikesobo... grab that and check.
