Increase Capital Ship Max level?

Errr... I tried searching but couldn't find anything. So I apologize if this has been asked before. :)

Is there a way to increase the capital ships max level? I was rummaging around in GameInfo but didn't see anything obvious and it doesn't seem to be under the files relating to the specific ships themselves.

I'm getting tired of finishing the game on large maps with 10+ L10 cap ships.....

[EDIT] Well, I finally found it, under gameplay, however, when I modify it by adding a "level" the game goes nuts. Constant pirate raids (as in, under a second apart) and -27676767 cost for metal/crystal on the black market. Clearly, I have no idea what I'm doing. :p I read in another post that the game looks for specific information on specific lines, does that mean you *can't* add information to a file if it shifts everything down?

[EDIT2] *sigh* All of the sudden it works fine. Sort of. Despite adding increasing the level to 20 under the Gameplay file, L10 is still the max. Must be another variable somewhere...... Anyone done this before and can tell me what I'm missing?

u need to say what and which files u changed if u want us to see if u missed something.
And BTW Did u get the Variable under the galexy dif file(only obvious one thats normaly missed)

As I recall reading before, the capital ship level limit is hardcoded at 10.

the level is not hard coded it just has to be done to every folder of the game that has any ref to ships as when i was looking through my files i found a line stating that all ships were meant to level up but now i cant find it it seems that the 1.05 update ethier moves or removes it sorry for not being any more helpful but im not online much as im working most of the time

I have no doubt you could change some attribute in every folder and file describing ship level up, but what actually happens in-game after doing so?

I was under the impression it simply doesn't work that way and that a change like this will not result in functional level 15 or 50 or whatever capital ships.

Yes, that would be hasLevels, but it exists in every single ship entity file. It's likely the frigate/cruiser/etc classes inherit certain properties of the base ship but are not set up to use levels, either in the UI or elsewhere.
