Defeat Screen

I saved my files as described to d/program files/stardock games/sins of a solar empire/galaxy and still get the Defeat screen as soon as I load the game.  I did not see anywere else that gave any other reason for this except for putting the file in the wrong place.  There must be a different reason.

Is it a galaxy forge map, and did you remember to assign enough player start positions?

Yes, they are Galaxy Forge maps, I must have missed the part about assigning player start positions. What exactly is this?

For each player listed in Edit->Players, you need to have a planet owned by that player and (ideally) set IsHomePlanet there to true.
