Freeze When Ships Jumping Between Planets

Hi

Just got the game.  I'm experiencing a technical problem whereby when I instruct my ships to jump between planets, the game freezes, then goes black, then comes back to life.  If I tab out to Windows, it tells me a graphics file has been forced to reset.

It's annoying, though it doesn't completely crash the game.

Anyone know a fix?  I'm using Windows Vista.  If no one recognises the issue, I'll try and force the problem again and note down the graphics file name this time.
