post your framerates

I've only had the game for 2 days, i'm just trying to work out if it's as fast as it should be, so far i havnt seen any 100+ battles yet.

Right, so using fraps with about 50-60 ships on screen, (some are pirates and some the other faction) 1 planet in background, and a few factories and other buildings- i get between 30-60 fps, depending on how i view the battle, but my point is that i can get it to go down to 36 fps from a certain few angles.

settings are all maxed, at 1680x1020 reso with 8800gtx oc'd, e6600 @3.4, 4 gig ram, vista x64. latest drivers.

 

So is this normal? or shoud i be getting more? i havnt tried a giant battle yet, but im worried it will get worse. What are yours?

 :LOL:  Let me know when you hit 9 FPS.......you know, after those giant battles you haven't tried yet!

If you don't like the frames you're getting in an RTS, play smaller maps with less units.......problem solved.

Since the game can zoom the way it dose I find that zooming fast is a great way to push your FPS.

If you get a major "chug" in the middle start some experiment maps and add planets in tens to see where that magic limit is. Once you know where it is cut that back by another ten planets and you can generally keep in a heavy ship game in check very well.

These are not official numbers I am throwing around of course they are just my experience.

anyone else? post your fps using fraps, and list your spec, vista/xp, and how many units/how far zoomed you are etc.

I realised that my OC had been disabled for the past few weeks, so that should help me a bit. Ill see what i get now. LFFPicard, do u have vysnc on?
