It's been mentioned before, but I would like different options for winning. Or different tools/strategies to win.
A political system would be nice. You get different bonuses/handicaps for the political system you take. Make your gaming experience your own.
Maybe something like planetary bribes. If your target planet has low allegience, you could bribe the population to your side.
Showing up to a system with an impressive planetary bombard fleet just might swing the inhabitants to your side. Or just kill 'em anyway like it is now.
An ingame battles won/lost tracker. So, if you invade a system and take heavy losses before retreating, your population will judge you to be an ass and this could effect things like production and or tax income. It's their sons and daughters piloting the ships your sacrificing. If you repel an enemy attack, your popularity skyrockets.
Different political parties allow for different dyplomacy options. I will stress that this is a wishlist of mine. I'm not asking to be flamed for reasons why it couldn't or shouldn't be done.
I like the game as it is as well.
