I emailed a bug report and perhaps someone else has/can recreated or found a solution

I was able to duplicate this crash 5 times in mulitplayer mode using medium map settings and pirates with a buddy of mine.   A minidump would happen immediately after I put my second level into resource sublimation of the nanotech
line.  We both were playing the same race, Vasari.

I am running xp pro sp2 and buddy is running vista ultimate 64 sp1.  We successfully played for over 8 hours not training in it.  I purchased the direct download and his is retail both patched to 1.05 (latest) and using texture mod for planets, though I doubt that is the problem.  It also worked fine in single player mode.
