Widescreen resolutions

Ok so here's the problem. I just bought a new plasma tv and want to play sins on it but the game only gives the the option to play at 1600x900 and higher and my rig just can't run the game that high without a framerate drop. Now i went to the user.settings file and played around with resolutions between 1280x720(16:9) and 1280x800(16:10) and every one i try pretty much cuts off parts of the screen.

A list of working 720p resolution would be the best but anything that can make it so i can play the game in widescreen at 720p without losing parts of the screen would help.

The game's minimum resolution is 1024x768, so as long as you don't go below those dimensions (height in partiocular) there shouldn't be any issue on the game side. Do make sure that your tv will accept the resolutions and refresh rates you're using (via HDMI I assume?) and display them properly.

If it's a 720p set, then its native resolution is probably 1360x768 or 1024x768 (the latter being more common in plasmas, not sure why they make them with rectangular pixels), so you may give those a shot.

Its a 1080p set with a native resolution of 1920x1080 and its connected to my pc using an hdmi to dvi cable. The screen looks fine at the resolutions of 1600x900 but as i said my pc just can't render that high of a resolution without a steep drop in performance. On my CRT i can just set it to 1280x768 but the game won't let me set it to anything other than 1600x900 and higher for the widescreen resolutions.

I tried the 1360x768 and it still cuts out parts of the screen. Still digging around on some HDTV forums but i can't seem to find any reference to similar problems with overscan.

What resolutions does the TV manual list as supported via HDMI?

The manual states that pc use is not assumed so it doesn't give pc resolutions and i can't exactly understand what is written here, i will copy what signals can be displayed by hdmi in hopes that its what you need.

525(480)/60i
525(480)/60p
525(720)/60p
1,125(1,080)/60i
1,125(1,080)/60p
1,125(1,080)/24p

As i stated i have no idea if that helps at all, if not i can keep digging on the internet for actual resolutions.

I'd expect that those are Actual Vertical Resolution (what it treats it as) / Refresh Rate. Basically it says that it supports NTSC and ATSC resolutions only; in the higher ones it either scales it or overscans.

If the set has an analog D-sub port, you may be better off using that, as it'd be more likely to support standard PC resolutions.
