Is it possible to add an entire new branch of research for all races??

If NOT will it be at some point in the future??

 

If so I have an idea:

MILITARY      -           , refineries and associated tech Here, and create a Corporate

                                                HQ as a Lab structure(s) for the Planetary Logistics section

SECTIONS

Training

·              Advanced crew training                     -  with the idea that they reduce cool down timers, or improve speed/turn rates, or even weapon fire rate

·              Improved Trade/Refinery Ships

·              Privateers/Mercenaries/Slavers

Infrastructure

·        Space Stations       -           Deployable to uncolonisable planets, Space Junk, Graveyards, etc

They should have limited construction capability to enable Defence platforms, repair bays, and Hangers

·        Station Modules    -           To enable specialisations, such as Trade port for those neutral

Resources, weapon jammers for Worm Holes, as ideas

·        Counter measures  -           Against Pirate capture ability enabling recapture rather than

Destruction, possibly with special boarding pods

Support Services

o       Privateer Prototypes

o       Space station constructors

o       Boarding pods

Can you make an entirely NEW PAGE to the research section, because you could then make more trees on a separate screen...

I thought that was what he meant...

You can have one page of "Civilian" and one page of "Military" research. You can rename those pages and do whatever the heck you like with them, but you can't have more. And those two pages can't scroll, either vertically or horizontally.

You can reduce the size of the research buttons on the research page, and move them closer together, which allows you to get more rows in that same space. You can't have more than 8 columns though. And you can't have more than the 3 groups. I think that's all the restrictions I've seen in the research window.

The Whole point of the original post was to add content and not just re arrage it, though thoughts and comments welcome

Well it is possible to rearrange the whole thing and we all know that you can add things, so obviously you can do it, its just a matter of how well you can do it...

You can reduce the size or spacing of the research buttons, and add more buttons on the same pages, if you want... that'll only go so far, though.
