Wormholes and interstar travel

Been trying soo hard, but I have to ask now

For the purpose of my thread, galacxy will mean = Cluster of stars (stars close to eachother)

So. I wanted to create a map where I have a few galacxy's, with wormholes connecting them instead of stars. So the priciple would be: interstellar travel is between stars, but intergalactic would be through wormholes.

so far I have managed to make a visible phaselane between to wormholes not in the same star system by notepad:

interStarConnectionCount 1
interStarConnection
 starIndexA 0
 planetIndexA 4
 starIndexB 2
 planetIndexB 6
 spawnProbability 1.0

Now there is a few problems with this. First it doesn't work... I mean it really does. It shows there is a connection but when I haven't discovered both wormholes (you have to go through the star to the other side and discover it), you cant really click on anything as all it shows is a phaselane going into no where. Second, when you have discovered both, it still doesn't work. When at the newly discovered wormhole ask the scout to travel to the other wormhole, it plots a route back through the star connection...

Not leaving out that I still haven't found out how to split star connections.

Any ideas/help/answers?

From what I've seen, you cannot split star connections as you are trying to do. Every star has a connection to every other star. If you want to control how you can travel between stars, you'll need to use phase lanes between planets, and don't allow any phase lanes to connect directly to any star. If you're willing to go so far as to create a mod, you could probably replace the star with a planet that uses the star's model, and then have phase lanes branching out from that pseudo-star.

I think you need to change the phase lane from a standard phase lane to a wormhole connection. There should be some sort of flag in the phase lane definition that you need to change to turn it into a wormhole connection, but I don't know what it is off the top of my head.

So its IMPOSSIBLE to disconnect stars from other stars? not all stars, I still want star connections, just having a range limitation, where a Wormhole is needed for longer travel.

Well a workaround could be cutting off the vanilla stars and using the stars as planetary bodies from the 7DS mod compilation instead. That way you can create your own star phase lanes and have separate galaxies a la Ancient Gifts.

Sorry I'm still new to all this. 7DS? Ancient Gifts?

Sorry, 7DS is Seven Deadly Sins, a compilation of a large number of mods. One of these mods introduces stars as planetary bodies the player is able to colonize.

Ancient Gifts is a large sized map where each player starts out on their own star system, but the systems are not connected to the stars. A complicated series of wormholes connects the empires to each other--pull open the map on galaxy forge and you can look at how it works.
