My game slows when I load a game!

I got 1.0 version of SOASE, and, while it works perfectly when I make a new game, each time I try to load one the game runs really slow (goes well 5 secs, then hangs for 5 secs, then goes again well etc.). I got an nVidia GeForce 8600 GT card, how can I make it work?

Update your game to version 1.05 I doubt previous versions of the game are even being supported as there have been so many enhancements/bug-fixes made.

I can't find the serial in the box, I guess I will have to call my OEM.

I think that slow thing is just normal. When I load a game, the loading bar goes about 3/4 full and then the game screen comes up. Then the game is slow for about a minute. If you wait a few minutes it should speed up some. If that doesn't work... then idk.

I haven't noticed this with Sins because I'm playing on a beast of a computer, but in nearly every other 4X game, it runs slower the further you are into it. Especially Civilization and GalCiv II. Normally, you don't really notice because the performance drop is gradual as the game proceeds (as the CPU and RAM become more taxed with more units, cities, etc.), but it's really apparent when you load a saved game (vs. starting a new game). You jump right in and it takes a full minute to compute the results of an End Turn.
